"Even today after 40 odd years of feminist resistance, the witch is a figure without respect except among witches. Particularly important in this collection is the author's determination: "lying to obligations, stealing your own time, daring your own thoughts...". Her definition of civilization is marvelous (Spell To Return). My favorite lines are " she is hard to take in all at once, that kind of love" and the last line in this wonderful book  "call me back."  Even if you are not a witch (yet) you'll enjoy this collection."​
